Protagonist Quill explores a fallen kingdom slowly reclaimed by nature, solving handcrafted, diorama-like environmental puzzles. The courageous mouse wields weapons, including a sword and hammer, for melee attacks to fend off foes. Players can choose the optional “skip combat” accessibility feature for a more relaxing, story-focused experience.
Expanded and remasterred orchestral music for the game series is composed by Jason Graves, available for purchase through the Bandcamp page, with streaming on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited.
Moss: Book I features vocals by Malukah on "Home To Me." Moss: Book II featured performers include Kristin Naigus on Irish whistles, flute, and oboe, Reinoud Ford on cello, and Tom Strahl on bouzouki and oud. Album art is by Corinne Scrivens.
A free demo is available through Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck. The console edition has launched for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
