Developed by Swing Swing Submarine and la poule noire, surreal adventure game Looking for Fael has launched for personal computers and consoles. A free demo is available through Steam, published by ARTE France.

Looking for Fael invites the player to explore ever-expanding, interconnected apartment that defies logic. Players may discover a mundane living room opening up into a laboratory, connected to a cinema screen, leading to many other varied environments.


Inspired by classics like Myst, puzzles involve deciphering the mysteries that have twisted the player character's home into an enigmatic maze, throwing into question the very nature of reality. In the process of exploring these spaces, an enigmatic Game Leaf retro console can be used to collect hidden items and unlock newly discovered spaces.

Environments feature the distinctive designs of comic book author Benoît “Beloup” Leloup, with sound design by Clothilde Schulz. The Original Soundtrack by Yann van der Cruyssen of Seasons After Fall is now available through the composer's Bandcamp page, with streaming available on Spotify and the G4F YouTube channel.

Looking for Fael is available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 consoles, along with Windows PC and MacOS through Steam. The soundtrack album, published in conjunction with G4F Records, features "Comme Un Souffle" by Billie Bird.

Looking For Fael, ARTE France's new game developed by la poule noire and Swing Swing Submarine, comes with an original soundtrack composed entirely by Yann Van Der Cruyssen, known as Morusque and Nurykabe.

The score mirrors the game itself: its style shifts deliberately throughout the adventure, echoing the different moods Fael encounters along his journey. It's woven through with recurring motifs and symmetries, musical echoes of the puzzles that punctuate the game, as if each melody were itself a riddle to solve.
