Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition launch trailer premieres
Developed by Monolith Soft, open-world role-playing game Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition has launched exclusively for Nintendo Switch consoles. The release trailer and an overview video are streaming on the Nintendo of America YouTube channel.

Largely independent of the storyline of Xenoblade Chronicles, the action role-playing game is set in the year 2054. The plot centers on the crew of the USS White Whale, as they crash land on an untamed planet, called Mira. The protagonists pilot powerful giant robots called Skells in a bid to rescue humanity from the brink of destruction.

The visually enhanced edition incorporates new story elements and other features. Xenoblade Chronicles X debuted on the Wii-U console in April of 2015, with series creator Tetsuya Takahashi serving as executive director.

Sony Music published the soundtrack album the following month, pressed on four compact discs. Original music is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, with excerpts of all tracks streaming on digital music store Ototoy.
