TOEM: A Photo Adventure by Swedish indie studio Something We Made received the BAFTA Games Award for Debut Game in 2022. The sequel, another relaxing journey, catches up with the photographer a few years later, still searching out the rare natural spectacles called TOEMs.
The developers aimed to augment the original's popular concept with more story elements, updated visuals, and the addition of jumping and climbing for more varied exploration.
TOEM 2 is currently available for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles. The Windows, Mac, and Linux editions are hosted on Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck.
Two singles preceded the full album release. "The Big Day" by Jamal Green plays during the Deltburg region—a quaint town with a few plumbing issues—currently playable in the demo. "Down The Road" by Launchable Socks brings back the dreamy electronics-and-stringed instrument combination introduced in the original. Both singles are hosted on Spotify and Apple Music.
An audio roundtable with sound designer Marcus Nilsson, hosted by Jurge Cruz-Alvarez from co-publisher popagenda, can be viewed on the Something We Made YouTube channel.
