The Nintendo Famicom port of The Tower of Druaga debuted on August 6th, 1985 in Japan. The action game challenges players to ascend the tower on a quest to defeat Druaga and rescue the imperiled priestess Ki.
Clad in gilded armor, the hero Gil must traverse each labyrinthine floor to locate a hidden key to unlock the path forward, while fending off enemy spells with his shield. Crucial hidden items—such as the pickaxe for breaking walls and the jet boots for boosting speed—must also be uncovered to progress.
Bandai Namco Game Music published the Game Sound Effect Original Soundtrack through streaming platforms in 2023 as part of the Namco Legendary series of albums. Spanning 35 music tracks and sound effects, the 14-minute album composed by Junko Ozawa is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited. Ozawa's music from direct sequel The Return of Ishtar (1986) is also on streaming platforms.
Arcade Archives The Tower of Druaga, the console port published by Hamster Corporation, is playable on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
