Sporting fully three-dimensional environments, developer Nihon Falcom's remake adds new content, including "Brave Rush" multi-character attacks, fishing and poker minigames, and added playable party members. Save data from the first chapter can be carried over, conferring bonus items to the party in the sequel.
The gameplay trailer provides a side-by-side comparison with the original Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter, published for Windows in 2006, and receiving a PlayStation Portable port the following year. The original title is currently available via Steam and GOG.com. Music is streaming on Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited, composed by Hayato Sonoda, Takahiro Unisuga, and Ryo Takeshita.
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will launch for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles, along with Windows through Steam.
