Sega's Sonic X Shadow Generations, a complete remaster introducing an all-new standalone campaign for Shadow the Hedgehog.

According to the PlayStation Blog, "Players will witness Shadow’s dark origins and explore an all-new hub world inspired by the open-zone gameplay of Sonic Frontiers by gaining new powers and uncovering hidden secrets throughout the area."

The expanded remaster is scheduled for release on October 25th for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series X|S consoles, along with Windows through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes a digital artbook, soundtrack, and extra BGM pack.


Sega published Sonic Generations for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, and Windows through Steam in November of 2011. Two-volume soundtrack "Sonic Generations Original Soundtrack: Blue Blur" premiered on January 11th of 2012.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise, the plot of Generations centers on Doctor Eggman discovering a means of traveling back in time. Modern Sonic must return to the past and team up with his Classic counterpart in a reimagined Green Hill zone. Classic levels revisit the side-scrolling platforming of the original Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy, while the modern 3D platforming segments more closely resemble those of Sonic Colors.

The two-part digital soundtrack by Jun Senoue is available for streaming on YouTube Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited. Other Sonic series composers contributing arrangements to the game score include Richard Jacques, Hideki Naganuma, and Tomoya Ohtani.
