Composed in 1989, The Revenge of Shinobi's music score melds Western dance music and traditional Japanese instrumentation flourishes.

The remastered vinyl soundtrack is published by record label Data Discs, shipping on 180-gram silver color vinyl from distributor PixelCrib in Australia. The first title in the Shinobi franchise published for the Sega Mega Drive features music by Yuzo Koshiro, his first commissioned project for Sega.

The Revenge of Shinobi is part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack catalog, along with Windows, Mac, and Linux through Steam. The digital soundtrack is available for purchase through Data Discs' Bandcamp page, with streaming on Spotify and YouTube Music.
