Resident Evil (1996) for Windows PC arrives on Steam
Capcom has published Resident Evil (1996) for Windows PC via Steam. Starring marksman Chris Redfield and demolition expert Jill Valentine, the uncut PC port contains uncensored graphic violence, more explicit than the original PlayStation console release.

Resident Evil previously arrived via GOG.com with new rendering options and full support for modern controllers. Enrollment in the DRM-free GOG Preservation Program is intended to ensure reliable compatibility with Windows personal computers in the future.

Laced Records pressed Capcom's soundtrack on deluxe triple vinyl, “intermingled with dialogue snippets and sound effects to help fans relive the survival horror experience.” Music is composed by Masami Ueda, Makoto Tomozawa, and Koichi Hiroki (M on M Inc.), complemented by 1997’s ‘Resident Evil Soundtrack Remix,’ arranged by Tomozawa.

Music from the 2002 GameCube remake is included in the compilations "Biohazard Sound Chronicle Best Track Box," comprising Disc 4 of the six-disc soundtrack compilation, and "Ten Years of Resident Evil."

From the GOG product page:
Your Special Tactics and Rescue Squad has been choppered to a remote mansion to investigate a biotechnical experiment gone hideously wrong. Before you can say "mass murder," you're plunged straight into a deathtrap writhing with man-eating freaks, swarming crows and rabid dogs.

Arm yourself with knives and flame-throwers scavenged from dead teammates. Solve puzzles, disarm traps and unearth mysteries. But beware: every move you make draws you deeper into the deadly embrace of Resident Evil.
