A retelling of the events of the iconic PlayStation title from 1998, Capcom's third-person survival horror title was built from the ground-up using the company's proprietary RE Engine. Supporting modernized controls and an over-the-shoulder perspective, players guide rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield through Raccoon City's disastrous viral outbreak.
Music for the game is by Shusaku Uchiyama, Masami Ueda, and Tadayoshi Makino, Zhenlan Kang, and Kentaro Nakashima, among other composers. Ending theme “Saudade” is composed by Cody Matthew Johnson and Shim. The Original Soundtrack is hosted on Steam, with streaming on Spotify Amazon Music Unlimited, while a condensed "Best Track Selection" is streaming on Spotify.
Resident Evil 2 (2019) is currently available via the Mac App Store for iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro, iPad and Mac with M1 chips or later models. The console edition is available for PS4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series X|S with Game Pass. The Windows PC edition is on Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck.
