Quake update 'Dawn of the Machine' celebrates 30th anniversary of launch
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Quake, a new free episode is now available as part of the remastered edition of the game. Developed by MachineGames, in collaboration with id Software, 'Dawn of the Machine' includes 19 all-new maps within one cohesive campaign, alongside a new soundtrack and added deathmatch map.

Arriving in 2021, the remastered edition of Quake was developed in collaboration with Nightdive Studios. The Windows edition is verified for use with the Steam Deck and Handheld Optimized on Xbox ROG Ally devices. Console editions are available for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, while a free update adds 4K resolution support for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

The science fiction-themed first-person shooter introduces players to labyrinthine, medieval environments, set to a score by Nine Inch Nails.

The industrial rock band was founded in Cleveland in 1988 by producer Trent Reznor, responsible for performing all instruments himself, apart from the drums. An enthusiast of Id Software's Doom, Reznor joined the development team on Quake in 1996, also providing voice acting for the protagonist. The project followed Reznor's work on the score for Oliver Stone's film Natural Born Killers, and preceded production on the music score for David Lynch's Lost Highway.

The Quake 2LP vinyl ships from the Nine Inch Nails shop, with streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music, published by Universal Music Group.
