The visually enhanced and expanded Atlus role-playing game introduces additional story and gameplay elements. New content is interwoven with the events depicted in the original Persona 5 release—culminating in an entirely new school semester, serving as a coda to the story.
Kasumi Yoshizawa and Takuto Maruki are new characters who serve as confidants to protagonist Joker, allowing him to visit new locales like Kichijōji. In addition, the character Jose now shows up in Mementos to trade flowers and stamps collected within the subterranean dungeon for stat-boosting rewards.
The Original Soundtrack is streaming on YouTube Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited, featuring music composed by Shoji Meguro, Toshiki Konishi, Atsushi Kitajoh, and Kenichi Tsuchiya. Opening movie theme "Colors Flying High" is hosted on YouTube, featuring vocals by Lyn Inaizumi.
Persona 5 Royal for PS4 and PlayStation 5 is part of the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog. The console edition is also available for Nintendo Switch. The Windows PC edition is on Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck.
