Capcom has published Onimusha: Way of the Sword Original Soundtrack via Apple Music and other streaming platforms. Excerpts of all tracks by Capcom Sound Team are streaming on digital music store Ototoy.

Built in RE Engine, the series reboot is set in the early 17th-century, after the wars of unification under Tokugawa rule. Rival swordsmen Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Ganryū feud over the nobler purpose of haunted artifacts they possess. The Oni gauntlets grant its bearer the power to slay the phantom demons, known as Genma, threatening to destroy the capital city of Kyoto.

Capcom licensed screen actor Toshirō Mifune’s likeness for the portrayal of the protagonist, Musashi. The samurai movie icon starred in Akira Kurosaawa's jidaigeki films Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, and Sanjuro. This casting carries on a series tradition of featuring recognizable actors, including Takeshi Kaneshiro, Yūsaku Matsuda, and Jean Reno. Musashi's voiced lines are performed by Yoshimasa Hosoya in Japanese and Kenichiro Thomson in English.

Music for the action-adventure game is composed by music director Marika Suzuki and lead composer Nozomi Ohmoto, in collaboration with co-composers Kota Suzuki, Tomoki Kameyama, and Daisuke Shinoda. "Ghost in the Silence" features singer-songwriter Cait Foley and Japanese-language vocalist mizuki. Director Satoru Nihei provided lyrics for the opening theme's Oni-clan chorus.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword has launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, along with Windows PC through Steam. The Premium Deluxe Edition includes the in-game mini digital soundtrack. A free demo is available across all platforms.
