Preorders open for Octopath Traveler II for Nintendo Switch 2
Preorders have opened on the Nintendo eShop for Octopath Traveler II for Nintendo Switch 2. The HD-2D role-playing game developed by Square Enix and Acquire is scheduled for launch on October 1st, with improved resolution, higher frame rates, and smoother performance.

Octopath Traveler pioneered the "HD-2D" development framework, producing a distinctive visual aesthetic that combines sprite-based character art and three-dimensional polygonal terrains. Octopath Traveler II is currently available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S, PS4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. The Windows PC edition is on Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck.


Octopath Traveler II Original Soundtrack, composed by Yasunori Nishiki, is available through streaming platforms, with cover illustration by character designer Naoki Ikushima. The CD set ships from distributor CDJapan with a booklet with comments by producer Masashi Takahashi and director Keisuke Miyauchi of Acquire.

Also pressed on compact disc, 16-bit Arrangements are by DESTINY 8 band member Noriyuki Kamikura, Yuma Bando of FAIR WIND music, Hirofumi Sasaki, and Tadashi Yatabe of SHANGRI-LA. A crossfade trailer can be viewed on the publisher's YouTube channel.
