Developed by Square Enix and DokiDoki Groove Works, Octopath Traveler 0 has launched for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PS4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S consoles, and Windows through Steam. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Arrangements Break & Boost Vol.3 on compact disc.

Employing the HD-2D design methodology, 2D pixel art is enhanced with 3D graphics to give players the feel of traversing a living diorama. New to the series, a customizable character serves as the protagonist. In addition, there are over 30 recruitable characters, requiring upwards of 100 hours to complete.

The Square Enix YouTube channel has posted preview music tracks "Chronicles of the Guardians of Light" and "Wishvale: For the Future." All music is by series composer Yasunori Nishiki.


The story of Octopath Traveler 0 centers on a quest to restore Wishvale, the hero's downtrodden village. This aspect of the narrative introduces base-building and farming features to the role-playing game franchise, reimagining and expanding upon the mechanics of free-to-play mobile game Champions of the Continent.

Preorders for Octopath Traveler 0 Original Soundtrack have opened at the Square Enix store, along with distributors CDJapan and Playasia. The album ships on two compact discs, packaged with a booklet with behind-the-scenes information from a roundtable discussion.
