Midnight Jazz: Final Fantasy IX arrangement album debuts in February
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of PlayStation role-playing game, Square Enix will publish arrangement album "Midnight Jazz: Final Fantasy IX" on February 11th of 2026 on compact disc.

Overseen by music director Yuma Yamaguchi, the album reinterprets original compositions by Nobuo Uematsu from the PlayStation role-playing game. "The arrangements span piano, big band, and combo styles," reads the product page. Original cover art depicts protagonists Vivi and Eiko.

Three behind-the-scenes recordings, of "The Darkness of Eternity," "Tantalus's Theme" and "Eternal Harvest," are streaming on the publisher's YouTube channel. Preorders have opened at the Square Enix store for North America and Europe, along with distributor CDJapan.

The visually enhanced port of Final Fantasy IX is available for Windows, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, iOS and Andoid devices.
