Developed by Bloober Team, Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition launched in December, fully optimized for Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. The compilation title includes Layers of Fear, Layers of Fear 2, and downloadable content, with new chapters to tie stories together. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the first-person psychological horror game emphasizes tense exploration, puzzle-solving, and immersive storytelling.
The 18-track album features vocalist Penelopa Willmann-Szynalik on atmospheric psychological horror themes "Layers of Fear Revisited," "The Stars Are Already There," and "The Fear Returns." The main theme of Layers of Fear 2, "The Fear Returns," is performed by the Sofia Session Orchestra & Choir, conducted by George Strezov. Layers of Fear 2 features additional music composition by Brunon Lubas.
Layers of Fear (2023) is also available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Apple Silicon Mac. The Windows PC edition is hosted on Steam, GOG.com, and the Epic Games Store, verified for use with the Steam Deck.
