Bomberman II for Nintendo Famicom turns 35, today
Bomberman II by Hudson Soft launched for the Nintendo Famicom home console 35 years ago, on this date.

The soundtrack by Bomberman series composer June Chikuma is streaming on the musician's SoundCloud channel. The puzzle game was later localized for the Nintendo Entertainment System, appearing in Europe under the title "Dyna Blaster."

The Bomberman sequel's storyline centers on a case of mistaken identity, as the titular hero is thrown in jail on suspicions of perpetrating a bank robbery. Through the course of the game, Bomberman must bust out of prison and bring the true culprit to justice.

Just over fifteen minutes in length, the seven-track chip music score includes title screen, menu screen and bonus stage tracks, three area themes and "powered up" tracks. Other game scores hosted on the composer's SoundCloud channel include Saturn Bomberman and DoReMi Fantasy.

Bomberman II is part of the Super Bomberman Collection, published by Konami. Features include Boss Rush mode, save states, rewind function, screen filters, art gallery, and the ‘BOMB Radio’ music player.
