Konami's action-adventure beat-em-up Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Dōchū launched for the Nintendo Famicom console on July 30th of 1986. Sequel Ganbare Goemon 2 followed on January 4th of 1989.

Music for Ganbare Goemon 2 is by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night composer Michiru Yamane. Sound design is contributed by Kouji Murata. Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Dōchū, Dragon Scroll, Idol no Yōsei Densetsu, and Ganbare Goemon 2's Famicom soundtracks are bundled in "Music From Konami Antiques" Vinyl Vol.2
