Forever Skies - Echoes Part 1 update launched for PS5 and Windows
Developed by Far From Home, the Echoes Part 1 update has launched for Forever Skies, available for PlayStation 5 and Windows through Steam.

The first-person post-apocalyptic survival game's story depicts planet Earth ravaged by an ecological disaster, sending clouds of toxic dust into the sky. One remnant of civilization survived, now in search of a cure to a mysterious illness threatening their space station.

Players assume the role of a scientist sent back to the planet's surface, challenged with upgrading and customizing a mobile high-tech airship to scavenge resources. Echoes Part 1 adds an Extractor upgrade system, ten new side quests—exploring the stories of the world’s past inhabitants—and Radio Tower location overhaul.

The Original Soundtrack is hosted on Steam, composed of "futuristic synths and haunting melodies that capture a ruined, desolate world." "Lone Scientist" by Dead Island composer Paweł Błaszczak is streaming on the developer's YouTube channel. The composer comments, via the Steam store page:
"Since Forever Skies is a game about isolation, apocalypse and mankind’s downfall and the need to start building again there were a few that got me into this mood. Films like - The Martian, Annihilation, Prospect and The Book of Eli and shows such as Dark or even certain episodes of Love, Death + Robots."

From the product page:
Hundreds of years have passed since tragedy struck and the planet has been covered in a colossal layer of toxic dust ever since. From an upgradeable and customisable high-tech airship base, you must brave this hostile world.

Explore the surface, scavenging for resources in order to survive. Face incredible dangers below the dust, hunting for viral pathogens to cure a mysterious illness. This is Earth - but can you still recognise humanity's home in what's become of it?
