Square Enix has published Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster for Xbox Series X|S consoles, coinciding with the first day of the Tokyo Game Show. The Anniversary Edition retail edition for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch is scheduled for release on October 8th.
The Pixel Remaster editions of the first six mainline Final Fantasy titles are presented in a sprite-based format reminiscent of the Game Boy Advance ports, while also adopting a widescreen display. Features include sprite art overseen by Kazuko Shibuya, a fast-forward option, mini-maps of dungeons and towns, and a music player and bestiary. The console release has added a new pixel-based font, the option to turn off random encounters and gain more experience from battles.
Composed by Nobuo Uematsu, excerpts of all music tracks from the Pixel Remaster series are streaming on digital music store Ototoy.

The Pixel Remaster series features utterly superb new orchestral arrangements of FINAL FANTASY I - VI’s soundtracks. However, we know some of you may want to recreate the original experience of playing these games, so you’ll be able to switch between the original and rearranged soundtracks. The console release of FINAL FANTASY I - VI gives you the option to switch between two different fonts: the default font and a new pixel-based font that recreates the feel of the original games.Square Enix store (North America) - Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition
Turn off random encounters: Sometimes you just want to explore in peace, so a feature in the Pixel Remaster games lets you turn off random encounters completely. This means you can roam the world without being harassed by monsters. That also means you won’t get stronger, so be careful how you use it… Speaking of getting stronger, want to speed things up a little? Boost features let you adjust the experience gained by up to four times. Perfect if you want an easier run through the games.
