Disney Interactive Entertainment published 3D platformer Epic Mickey in 2010 for the Nintendo Wii console. Overseen by Deus Ex director Warren Spector, Mickey Mouse joins Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in navigating a Wasteland of forgotten Disney characters. Developed by Purple Lamp, the remake adds new moves to build out Mickey's combat and exploration options, from dash and sprint to ground-pound maneuvers. The central gameplay mechanic has Mickey drawing and erasing objects with a magic brush. Players collect virtual pins, tackle creative challenges, and uncover secrets within platforming levels inspired by animated films and shorts.
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series X|S consoles. The PC edition is hosted on Steam and GOG.com, verified for use with the Steam Deck. The release trailer can be viewed on the publisher's YouTube channel.
