Castlevania Chronicles for PlayStation turns 25, today
Developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (KCET), Castlevania Chronicles for Sony PlayStation launched 25 years ago, on this date.

Produced by Koji Igarashi, the enhanced port of the Sharp X68000 platformer Akumajō Dracula features illustrations by Ayami Kojima. Descendant of legendary vampire hunters Simon Belmont traverses Dracula’s castle, wielding the Vampire Killer. The original title's 24 stages are expanded upon and reimagined, complemented by rebalanced gameplay and enhanced visual effects.

The Original Soundtrack is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited. Music is composed by Konami Kukeiha Club for X68000, arranged by Sota Fujimori and Hiroshi Iizuka for the PlayStation console.

From the Konami product page:
Following Dracula's demise at the hands of Christopher Belmont, the Transylvanian countryside slept peacefully for 100 years. Then one Easter night, the townspeople were celebrating the joyous holiday with a splendid carnival. But, in the ruins of the old monastery on the edge of town, the followers of darkness were holding a Black Mass to revive the evil Count and give him eternal life. They poured a sacrifice of human blood over his remains. As they did so, an ominous thundercloud enveloped the town. Suddenly, a single bolt of lightning pierced the monastery. In that instant, Dracula, the Prince of Darkness, returned to this world to begin a new reign of terror.
