Assassin's Creed Shadows launch trailer premieres for Nintendo Switch 2
Assassin's Creed Shadows by Ubisoft Quebec has launched for Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. The release trailer can be viewed on the publisher's YouTube channel. The Claws of Awaji expansion for the open-world RPG will follow, in 2026.

Set in 16th-century Japan, nearing the end of the Sengoku period, the action-adventure game follows two playable characters, the shinobi assassin Naoe and samurai Yasuke. Co-composers Joe Henson and Alexis Smith of The Flight instill music associated with these protagonists with their own contrasting sounds.


Prior to the release of the action-adventure game, Ubisoft published the Assassin’s Creed Shadows EP. "Ezio's Family (Shadows Version)" is composed by Jesper Kyd, arranged by psych-rock band TEKE::TEKE. The full music score from the base game is streaming on the Ubisoft Music YouTube channel.

Alex Cameron Ward, Félix Rebaud-Sauer and Hugo Brijs of production team Thunderdrum contributed eight tracks to the Ukombozi score, collaborating with vocalist Tiggs Da Author. The vinyl soundtrack ships from publisher Laced Records, and distributor At The Movies.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is currently available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 consoles, along with Mac operating systems via the Mac App Store, and Windows through Steam and the Epic Games Store, verified for use with the Steam Deck.
