Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War treated to Sounds in the Cockpit video
The latest installment in the Ace Combat 30th Anniversary project "Sounds in the Cockpit" showcases the sound design of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. The 25-minute video combines music from the aerial combat simulator with sound effects by the Bandai Namco Studios Sound Team.

Art director Tadahiko Kawaguchi penned an allegorical fairytale story and illustrations, "A Blue Dove for the Princess," appearing during cinematic cutscenes to inform the lore of the 2004 combat flight simulator for PlayStation 2. An homage to late 19th century art styles, passages are read aloud in a 20-minute video on YouTube, uploaded to commemorate the 25th anniversary of launch.

Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War Original Soundtrack by Namco Sounds is hosted on streaming platforms. Music for the game is composed by music producer Keiki Kobayashi and sound producer Tetsukazu Nakanishi, in collaboration with Junichi Nakatsuru and Hiroshi Okubo. Kobayashi's studio Cakeprojects collaborated with the developer in 2020 in recording a piano arrangement of the main theme, which can be viewed on the Ace Combat Youtube channel.
