Publisher Clear River Games has slated Under Defeat for release early in 2025, avilable for Windows and consoles. A soundtrack crossfade trailer is streaming on the YouTube channel of developer City Connection.

The vertical scrolling shoot-em-up arrived in arcades in Japan in October of 2005. Border Down developer by G.rev utilized the Sega NAOMI hardware, facilitating the release of a Sega Dreamcast port the following year. A high-definition remaster launched in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, featuring music composed by Shinji Hosoe of Sweeprecord, arranged by Yousuke Yasui.


The Under Defeat limited edition Black Box has launched in Japan, available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 consoles, published by City Connection. Shipping is available through distributors CDJapan and Play-Asia for the limited edition release, bundled with a fan booklet and the soundtrack album on compact disc.

Under Defeat will launch for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, along with Windows through Steam.
