Record label iam8bit has reissued Sabotage Studio's The Messenger vinyl soundtrack, pressed on two analog records. Featuring album art by "Magic: The Gathering" illustrator Peter Mohrbacher, the vinyl publication also ships from distributor PixelCrib in Australia.

Independently developed platformer The Messenger features music by Sea of Stars soundtrack composer Rainbowdragoneyes. The two-part digital soundtrack album covering "The Past" and "The Future" stage themes is hosted on Bandcamp.

Starring the "Western Hero" granted the power to travel through time, The Messenger flips between 8-bit and 16-bit stylized landscapes, challenging the player to intense 2D sidescrolling platforming and combat. The silent protagonist is aided both by a winged sidekick named Quarble—capable of reviving the hero—and a mysterious Shopkeeper granting upgrades, including a shuriken ranged attack, a downward-swiping wingsuit strike and underwater dash.

The Messenger is currently available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, along with Windows through Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck. Music from the beach party-themed Picnic Panic downloadable contents is also hosted on Bandcamp.

The first disc oozes with 8-bit NES-talgia, while the second disc journeys us into the 16-bit future. These are two distinct soundtracks borne of different eras, yet bound by ninja sweat and demon blood.
