Super Mario RPG Original Sound Vinyl Box slated for release in April
Pressed on four analog records, the Super Mario RPG Original Sound Vinyl Box is scheduled for release on April 9th in Japan, courtesy of Nintendo and Square Enix. Original music compositions and oversight of arrangements are by LIVE A LIVE composer Yoko Shimomura.

Planned for release on the same day, the Super Mario RPG Original Soundtrack ships on two compact discs, featuring 61 tracks from the Nintendo Switch role-playing game. The Original Sound Box includes four compact discs, bundling the remake's arrangements together with the Super Nintendo music score.

Preorders have opened at the Square Enix store for North America and Europe, along with distributors PixelCrib in Australia, CDJapan and Play-Asia. Excerpts of selected tracks are streaming on the official album website.


Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was developed by Square and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo in 1996. Patterned after the popular graphics of Donkey Kong Country created on Silicon Graphics workstations, players control Mario as he explores isometric 3D environments. Upon encountering an enemy, the perspective shifts to command-based selections guiding the actions of party members.

The Nintendo Switch features trailer details updated action commands and post-game boss rematches. Orchestration for the arrangements is contributed by Natsumi Kameoka and Tomomichi Takeoka.
