S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl for Xbox Series X|S has joined the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Developer GSC Game World previously posted documentary "War Game: The Making of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2," streaming on the company's YouTube channel. The 90-minute film details the challenges faced during the course of development. "Radio Beats: Rostok Sunrise" previews the in-game Ukrainian radio station.

As depicted in the launch trailer, the open-world setting encompasses a 64-kilometer region called the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, built in Unreal Engine 5. Competing factions engage in shootouts over radiated territory, fending off mutated creatures while searching out valuable artifacts. Players are challenged with ailments including hunger and radiation poisoning, while the environment changes based on time of day and adverse weather conditions.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is also available for Windows through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. The Deluxe Edition includes the digital art book and Official Soundtrack.
