Set in the 16th century, Soulcalibur series debut title Soul Edge arrived in arcades in February of 1996, utilizing cutting edge motion capture technology.
Later that year, Namco ported the weapon-based fighting game from the System 11 arcade hardware, developed in collaboration with Sony, to the PlayStation home console. Preceding launch, soundtrack album "Soul Edge Super Battle Sound Attack" premiered on compact disc, distributed by Pony Canyon in Japan.
Music composed by Takayuki Aihara is now available for streaming on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited, published by Bandai Namco Game Music. The 20th anniversary trailer is streaming on Bandai Namco's YouTube channel.
