SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered Original Soundtrack due out July 2nd
Square published role-playing game SaGa Frontier 2 for Sony PlayStation on April 1st of 1999, four years to the day prior to the merger with developer Enix.

Produced by Akitoshi Kawazu, the stylized visual design of the game was spearheaded by Final Fantasy XVI director Hiroshi Takai serving as art director, together with series illustrator Tomomi Kobayashi. Music for the game is by Unlimited Saga composer Masashi Hamauzu.

SaGa Frontier 2 Original Soundtrack was pressed on three compact discs by Square's music publishing label DigiCube, coinciding with launch. The album cover is decorated with art by Kobayashi.

Hamauzu's acoustic arrangement album followed in July of that year, entitled "Piano Pieces SF 2: Rhapsody on a Theme of SaGa Frontier 2." Both the original soundtrack and piano covers are streaming on Amazon Music Unlimited, Spotify and YouTube Music, published by Square Enix.


SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered updates the role-playing game's impressionist watercolor visuals for higher resolution monitors.

The remaster integrates a rebuilt user interface and new events. A new feature called "Parameter Inheritance" lets one character inherit the stats of another. Also added are high-speed functionality and a New Game+ mode, allowing completion data to be carried over.

SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered Original Soundtrack is scheduled for release on July 2nd in Japan, pressed on four compact discs. The album includes the original soundtrack and newly arranged music featured in the remaster. Preorders have opened at the Square Enix store for North America and Europe, along with distributors CDJapan and Play-Asia.

On July 18th, Doremi Music in Japan will reprint a book of sheet music for solo piano, first published in 1999. Hamauzu served as producer, with Asako Niwa arranging music for piano. Preorders have opened on Amazon.

SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is currently available for iOS and Android devices, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, along with Windows through Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck.
