Vanillaware's 2D action role-playing game Odin Sphere served as the spiritual successor to the Atlus-developed Sega Saturn title Princess Crown. Inspired by Norse mythology, the PlayStation 2 game was co-directed by George Kamitani of Muramasa: The Demon Blade, while the soundtrack album features his cover illustration.
The 45-track album, first published in 2007 by 5pb. Inc, features music by Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masaharu Iwata, Kimihiro Abe, Mitsuhiro Kaneda and Manabu Namiki. The digital publication is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited.
High definition remake Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir for PS4 is part of the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog, including an updated battle system and high-definition art. A live performance of the main theme is streaming on the Atlustube YouTube channel.
