The lore-rich, independently developed fantasy title by Red Candle Games patterns its deflection-based combat after Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, reimagined for a 2D environment. Protagonist Yi, a reawakened hero long forgotten from history, embarks on a journey to New Kunlun to defeat the 9 Sols of the deserted city.
Nine Sols Original Soundtrack is published via Steam, with streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited, featuring the main theme by Collage. Blending "various traditional Eastern instruments and vocal sounds with modern electronic synthesizers," as described on the Steam store page, music is also composed by FFXX, Im Baek Hun, Troy Lin, and Vincent Yang.
Nine Sols is also available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S consoles, along with Windows PC and Mac via Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck. A behind-the-scenes video of a recording session can be viewed on the developer's YouTube channel.
