Record label Scitron Discs published the "Mr. Driller Soundtracks" album in 2002, pressed on two compact discs. The compilation, featuring tracks from the first three titles in the action puzzle game series, is now available through streaming platforms, courtesy of Bandai Namco Game Music.

Music from Mr. Driller, Mr. Driller 2 and Mr. Driller G is mostly composed by Go Shiina. In addition, short cues, fanfares, and Game Boy Color tracks were composed Tomoko Tatsuta. The release of the album coincides with the 27th anniversary of Mr. Driller's arrival in arcades.

Players guide protagonist Susumu Hori in clearing the screen of colorful blocks. Susumu’s oxygen meter steadily depletes as he ventures deeper underground, requiring him to collect air capsules to reach the depths at 1000 meters below.

Digging into four or more adjacent blocks of the same color clears that group of blocks. When this causes blocks to fall and form new groups of four or more matching colors, those also clear, allowing Susumu to chain block removals.

Mr. Driller for Sony PlayStation is available for PS4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters. Mr. Driller 2 for Game Boy Advance is part of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion pack.
