Coinciding with the Steam Next Fest event, the Metal Slug Tactics playable demo premiered today for Windows operating systems, offering a glimpse of the sprite-based title's strategy role-playing gameplay infused with roguelike progression elements.

Players can create teams comprised of a selection from among nine familiar characters originating in the run-and-gun game series by SNK. They include Peregrine Falcons Squad members Marco Rossi and Tarma Roving, together with Eri Kasamoto and Fio Germi of the S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S. special forces unit.

Developed by Leikir Studio and published by Dotemu, Metal Slug Tactics is planned for release in fall of 2024 for Windows through Steam, along with Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles. Music for the game is by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge composer Tee Lopes.
