Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the run-and-gun franchise, SNK Playmore published mobile tower defense game Metal Slug Attack. The direct sequel to Metal Slug Defense, Attack launched for iOS and Android devices.

The high-definition remaster Metal Slug Attack Reloaded has launched for Windows through Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation consoles. The included Gallery Mode features art and music from the game.

SNK Sound Team's 41-track digital soundtrack premiered in November of 2018, available for streaming on Spotify and Amazon Music Unlimited. An EP comprised of five additional unreleased tracks, entitled "Final Mission," is also hosted on streaming platforms.
