Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland gets Steam Next Fest demo
Independent developer Die Soft has published the playable demo for Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland, coinciding with the February Steam Next Fest. The non-linear platformer will launch on March 31st for Windows via Steam and itch.io.

Guardians of Slumberland is inspired by the story of Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo comics and Capcom's NES-era gameplay. Metroidvania-styled exploration plays a significant role as the pajama-clad child protagonist ventures into a vast, non-linear dream world. An arsenal of toys, candy, and stuffed animals allow Nemo to fend off enemies and traverse otherwise inaccessible paths to variously-themed dream zones.

Music is by Peter Berkman of Anamanaguchi, co-composer on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game. A Nintendo Switch port is in development, planned for release later this year.

From the Steam product page:
Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland takes the retro NES-era platformer gameplay of Capcom and Nintendo favorites and brings it to a vast, non-linear world that has been lovingly hand-animated frame-by-frame. You’ll explore as you collect new ability-granting toys and PJs, discover enchanting lands inspired by Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo comics, and encounter a colorful cast of characters — all through the nostalgic lens of an ‘80s/’90s kid.
