Guardians of Slumberland is inspired by the story of Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo comics and Capcom's NES-era gameplay. Metroidvania-styled exploration plays a significant role as the pajama-clad child protagonist ventures into a vast, non-linear dream world. An arsenal of toys, candy, and stuffed animals allow Nemo to fend off enemies and traverse otherwise inaccessible paths to variously-themed dream zones.
Music is by Peter Berkman of Anamanaguchi, co-composer on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game. A Nintendo Switch port is in development, planned for release later this year.
From the Steam product page:
Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland takes the retro NES-era platformer gameplay of Capcom and Nintendo favorites and brings it to a vast, non-linear world that has been lovingly hand-animated frame-by-frame. You’ll explore as you collect new ability-granting toys and PJs, discover enchanting lands inspired by Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo comics, and encounter a colorful cast of characters — all through the nostalgic lens of an ‘80s/’90s kid.Die Soft Games - Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland
