Developed by Team Gravity at Sony's Japan Studio, Gravity Rush 2 debuted in 2017. The PlayStation 4 exclusive continues the tale of protagonist Kat's adventures in the city of Hekseville. "Gravity Rush: The Animation - Overture," a two-part animated film by Studio Khara, served to fill in the gap between the two game installments.
Publisher Team Entertainment pressed the Gravity Rush 2 soundtrack album to four compact discs in Japan in 2017. Recorded in 2016, a video of the composer's live keyboard performance of music from the series can be viewed on the PlayStation Japan YouTube channel. The music score features synthesizer operator Yasunori Nishiki and performers Eijiro Nakagawa on trombone and Ryu Kawamura on bass.
