First published in 1997 by Sony Music, U/M/A/A Inc. has reprinted the PlayStation soundtrack "Ghost in the Shell Megatech Body CD.,LTD." Preorders have opened for the picture disc and two-disc vinyl LP publications.

Ghost in the Shell Videogame Soundtrack Megatech Body will ship from publisher iam8bit, along with distributors Black Screen Records in Europe, CDJapan, and Play-Asia.The techno soundtrack is produced by Takkyu Ishino and includes music by Mijk Van Dijk, Hardfloor, and Derrick May. Excerpts from the album are streaming on Spotify and Amazon Music Unlimited.

Jumping Flash! developer Exact partnered with Production I.G to develop the game for the Sony PlayStation console in 1997, featuring art design overseen by manga illustrator Masamune Shirow. Players take on the role of an unnamed rookie in the Public Security Section 9 intelligence department, controlling a one-man spider-shaped tank called "Fuchikoma." Animated cutscenes feature series protagonists Motoko Kusanagi and Batou.
