Final Fantasy X-2 debuted on the PlayStation 2 console in March of 2003. An additional "Last Mission" segment was added to the international edition of the turn-based role-playing game, released in 2004 exclusively in Japan.

In December of 2013, Final Fantasy X HD Remaster Original Soundtrack was pressed on Blu-Ray disc, including ten bonus tracks from Final Fantasy X-2. Starring Yuna, Rikku, and Paine, the direct sequel features a music score by The Bouncer composers Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi.

Vocalist Koda Kumi participated in the creation of Final Fantasy X-2 by performing motion capture and voicing the character of Lenne. The musician's "Real Emotion" single is available for streaming on Spotify and YouTube Music.

Square Enix treated the contents to a Western localization ten years later with the publication of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Windows through Steam. The soundtrack selections, presented as a video soundtrack, are streaming on the Square Enix YouTube channel.
