The Pixel Remaster editions of the role-playing game series are presented in a sprite-based format reminiscent of the franchise's Game Boy Advance ports, while also adopting a widescreen display. Additional features include a fast-forward option for battles, mini-maps of dungeons and towns, and a music player and bestiary. Character sprite art is overseen by pixel artist Kazuko Shibuya.
Multiple artists participated in recording arrangements of composer Nobuo Uematsu's music score for the "Pixel Remaster." The 54-track soundtrack album is hosted on Steam, with excerpts of all arrangements streaming on the official album website and digital music store Ototoy.
Hidenori Miyanaga from Square Enix's Osaka branch served as music director on the role-playing game, while arrangers include Yuko Komiyama, Ayumu Murai, Shingo Kataoka, Masashi Kuno, Ryoue Takagi, Tomonori Adachi, and Masaya Tsunemoto.
Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster is on Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck. The console edition is also available for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
