Hudson Soft's Doraemon launched for the Nintendo Famicom console in December of 1986, achieving bestseller commercial success. The reveal trailer for the Nintendo Switch port by Hamster Corporation is streaming on YouTube.
Console Archives Doraemon is scheduled for launch on July 30th in Japan. Players aid Doraemon in rescuing elementary school kids Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, Suneo, and Dekisugi. Music for the 8-bit console game is by Bomberman series composer June Chikuma, debuting the same year as her score for Hudson's Adventure Island.
In addition to composing original music for three distinct worlds, along with boss battles and hidden worlds, Doraemon also evokes the popular television series music. The first stage theme "Tokai Tokai Planet" adapts Shunsuke Kikuchi's anime opening song "Doraemon no Uta."
Hudson's PC Engine sequel Doraemon: Meikyū Daisakusen launched in 1989. Four excerpts from the soundtrack are streaming on the composer's SoundCloud channel.
