Animal Crossing: New Horizons treated to Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Nintendo has published the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The enhanced port adds higher resolution visuals, mouse controls, and expanded online features.

Music from New Horizons premiered on the Nintendo Music app, coinciding with the streaming platform's launch in October of 2024. A year later, "Play hourly tracks" functionality was introduced via the Ver 1.4.0 patch, allowing music playback to match a smartphone device's current time of day. Hourly tracks are located in "A Sunny Day," "A Rainy Day," and "A Snowy Day" hourly playlists.

Publisher Nippon Columbia previously published music from the game in the first two volumes of the Original Soundtrack and the K.K. Slider instrumentals album. Those albums ship domestically via distributors CDJapan and Playasia. The Totakeke Music Collection (Instrumental) depicts K.K. Slider on the front cover. Known as "Totakeke" in Japan, the character's name is a nod to series sound director Kazumi Totaka.

The Theme Song Performance video is streaming on the Nintendo of America YouTube channel, with Nobuyuki Aoyagi credited as mixing engineer in the end credits. Filmed separately, the recording features Eric Miyashiro on flugelhorn, Tetsuro Toyama on acoustic guitar and ukelele, Mataro on percussion, Takashi Ebinuma on double bass, and Saburo Tanooka on accordion.

Original music for the game, credited in the liner notes of the album releases, is by Nintendo staff members. They include Totaka, Sayako Doi, Yasuaki Iwata, Yumi Takahashi, Shinobu Nagata, Masato Ohashi , Toru Minegishi, Manaka Kataoka, Atsuko Asahi, and Shiho Fujii.
